The downstairs bedroom we are using as a play room has tiled flooring. I do not like tile in bedrooms, so we bought those large (24 x 24) foam tiles from BJ's Warehouse Club and covered the room with the tiles. This makes it safer than having a hard surface floor in a playroom. I don't have the tiles on one side of the room because their thickness prevented the closet doors from opening.
In the old house we had an Ikea bookshelf in our foyer with nice wicker baskets. It doesn't match our new layout, so I bought new bins and put it in the playroom as extra storage space. I have the TV anchored on top, the bottom row bins are from Ikea as well, and the top row are plastic bins from the Target $ section.
